Greetings From… Launches Johannesburg Creative Hub, Bridging Global Artistic Communities

Greetings From… Launches Johannesburg Creative Hub

Rooted in the long-held vision of brothers Damon Turner and DT, Greetings From… has officially landed in Johannesburg, marking the beginning of a global creative movement designed to connect continents, cultures and artistic communities through intentional exchange.

A Vision Years in the Making

Conceived as more than a project, Greetings From… is imagined as a cultural bridge — one that allows artists from across the world to meet on equal footing, share perspectives and collaboratively shape new creative futures. The Johannesburg activation represents the first chapter of this journey, chosen deliberately for its deep cultural influence and vibrant artistic ecosystem.

An Intimate Creative Hub in Johannesburg

At the heart of the activation is an intimate living-space-turned-creative hub, where artists engage daily in dialogue, collaboration and cultural exchange. The space functions as both home and studio, fostering organic interactions across disciplines including music, visual art and cultural storytelling.

Throughout the activation, artists from across Africa and the diaspora gather to develop their craft, build lasting relationships and create together. The hub remains alive with continuous music creation, including collaborative sessions led by Grammy-nominated producer FKi 1st, alongside notable artists and cultural innovators.

Collaboration as the Core

The Johannesburg hub prioritises process over spectacle, placing value on authentic engagement and creative care. By creating an environment that encourages experimentation and shared learning, Greetings From… reinforces its commitment to sustainable cultural exchange rather than transactional collaboration.

Two Public Events Emerge

From the relationships formed within the Greetings From… house, two public-facing events have emerged, offering audiences a glimpse into the creative energy cultivated behind closed doors.

January 9: A Night with Greetings From…

The first event takes the form of a public art and music exhibition, showcasing work by Johannesburg-based visual artists Monox and Maverick Seizure. The evening also features floral installations by Frederick “Tree” Johnson, alongside a curated listening session drawn from Damon Turner’s personal musical archive.

January 15: Greetings From… Untitled

The second event presents a live multidisciplinary performance featuring Free State artist Bondo, with Damon Turner as headliner. The production is artistically directed by multi-award-winning theatre-maker Napo Masheane, blending performance, sound and storytelling into a singular live experience.

Setting the Tone for a Global Journey

The Johannesburg activation reflects Greetings From…’s broader commitment to building authentic global platforms where artists can meet, exchange and collectively imagine what comes next. Beginning in Johannesburg by design, the movement sets the tone for a global journey rooted in care, culture and collaboration — with Africa firmly positioned at its creative centre.
